Background
Dr Jamilla Hussain is a clinical academic in Palliative and End of Life Care. Through her NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship, NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship and NIHR Clinical Lectureship she led several research projects addressing inequalities in end-of-life care and developing research methods for end-of-life care studies.
She is currently undertaking an NIHR Advanced Fellowship (2025-2030) which aims to develop an anti-racism framework for Palliative and End of Life Care. She is also co-PI for the Well-Bradford frailty feasibility cohort study and co-applicant on several other national studies focussing on inequalities at the end of life.
Research interests
Jamilla’s research interests include intersectional inequalities at the end of life, addressing racism in health and social care, and research methods including co-production, community researchers, quasi-experimental methods and trials.
