Background

Yemisi is currently studying for a PhD at the University of Bradford looking at the Barriers and facilitators in engaging in physical activity among children with sickle cell disease. She is on a three-month placement as a safety equity fellow working within the ‘safer systems, cultures and practices’ theme of the Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Research Collaboration.

Yemisi has a background in childcare and was awarded a master’s in psychology from the University of Bradford in 2018 where her thesis was on the lived experiences of black parents with children who have special needs. She has a keen interest in qualitative research centred on black families.

Research interests

Yemisi is interested in health research around black families.
