Background

Sally has recently joined the YQSR Group as a Policy Research Programme Manager to work on the NIHR funded programme of work delivering research in patient safety to inform policy and practice at a national level. Sally is responsible for co-ordinating the timely delivery of research in specific areas of interest relating to patient safety, including the formative evaluation of Martha’s Rule and improving the use of safety intelligence.

Sally initially trained in the field of Pharmacology and also holds an MSc in Health and Public Leadership. She has worked for over 13 years in the NHS at a local, regional and national level and has extensive experience of programme management and translating policy into practice. She has worked across a wide range of health, social and voluntary care settings and brings with her recent experience directly working in quality and patient safety within an integrated care system.

Research interests

She has a particular interest in prevention, patient safety and quality improvement. Sally enjoys the variety and challenges that programme management brings and the opportunity of this role to translate research into evidence based policy and practice to improve patient outcomes and experience.
