Background

Hadeel is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Bradford exploring medication self-management behaviours in older people using multiple medicines at the hospital-to-home transition. She has recently joined the Yorkshire & Humber PSRC as a Safety Equity Fellow for a 3-month placement within the ‘Decluttering (safely) for safety’ theme.

Hadeel is a Pharmacist and was awarded a Masters in Pharmacy from the University of Manchester in 2010. She started her career in the hospital setting where she completed the clinical pharmacy diploma, moving into general practice in 2016 where she went on to obtain her independent prescribing qualification.  Hadeel continues to work as Deputy Head of Clinical Pharmacy for a GP Federation in Leeds one day per week where her role involves supporting the Head of Clinical Pharmacy with recruitment, mentoring, facilitating peer support and leading on education & training of PCN Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians across the 7 PCNs within the Federation.

Research interests

Hadeel is interested in research around older people, overprescribing, transitions of care and medication communication.
