Workshop: ‘Achieving an earlier diagnosis of cancer in primary care: is there a role for patients in safety-netting?’

The Quality & Safety Research Team are running a workshop – ‘Achieving an earlier diagnosis of cancer in primary care: is there a role for patients in safety-netting?’.  The workshop is taking place on Thursday 9th February at the Park Plaza Leeds, starting at 12.30 and finishing at 16.15.

The purpose of the workshop is to present a summary of findings from the research study, ‘Patient involvement in diagnosing cancer in primary care’ which we have conducted, discuss the challenges, potentials and key components of possible safety-netting strategies for the earlier diagnosis of cancer and to identify how to engage patients to be involved in safety-netting in primary care. The future direction for research on this topic will also be considered.

There is a limited budget to contribute to costs for locum backfill for GPs and Nurse Practitioners and for compensation for time to attend for Practice Managers.
